Why I Love To Travel With My Family?

Sitting in the lounge at the airport, we are ready to leave for a family holiday. We have been looking forward to this holiday for a long time. It is not that we have not taken breaks in the recent past, but we look forward to each and every holiday that we take together. My husband and I have travelled a lot since Little Miss A turned four months. We have taken breaks, both domestic and international. Many people who know us think we take many holidays and that travelling with a child is not easy. We love our small breaks. There are many reasons why we plan small breaks and love to travel with my family. Let us talk about a few:

Enables Us to Spend Time Together

In the daily mundane routine, we just meet each other and discuss the essentials. Holidays allow us to spend quality time with each other. It allows us to have a conversation apart from the necessities. There are no schedules, no con calls, no working like a machine around the clock; we are away from the routine and this brings in a sense of relaxation. Each place has something new to offer and from the stage of planning the break to the time we discover the place, it brings us all together. Little Miss A is small still, and does not understand the planning; but from the minute she sees us packing, she knows its time for a holiday and she gets to spend a lot of time with her darling father.

Learning Experience

I have noticed that Miss A has learned a lot while we have been on holidays. Maybe we are also stress free and have more patience, or it is just a change in environment for her. She was scared to go into the swimming pool but on our first Goa trip, she became a happy water baby. She enjoyed seeing mountains and plucking strawberries on our last visit to Chail. She enjoyed walking around the fort when we went to Jodhpur. Different experiences have taught her new things and thus, all holidays have been a great learning experience for her. When they see things which they only read about, their learning increases. Different places help them learn about different places, their cultures, food and monuments.

Rejuvenate

Life has become much more hectic and stressful than it was for our parents and grandparents. Daily routines are mechanical and there is hardly any time to relax. Holidays are important because they help us relax as they keep us away from worries and stress which comes with the daily life. There is room for interesting conversations, entertaining games, a dip in the pool or just relaxing and watching the sun set. The rejuvenation and relaxation that a holiday brings are really important to stay charged to take on the challenges of life.

Holiday for each of us has a different meaning. For my husband it is a few days away from the stress of work and being able to spend more time with us, for Little Miss A it is getting undivided attention from her father and not needing her mother, and for me, it is a time to chill as they both are busy with each other. Holiday can be a short weekend a few hours away, a week-long road trip or visit an international destination; they all are the perfect way to create memories. Before we realize, the kids will grow up and all we will have are these memories to cherish. So, do not think, plan your next trip now. Remember, “Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer”
